Benefiting Education of Girls in Nigeria (BEGIN) organizes fundraising events with the aim of raising money to support young girls in Nigeria to access university education.
At our first event in Cambridge, UK in collaboration with Cambridge University Executive MBA, we organized an evening of entertainment which included stand-up comedy, songs, and salsa dancing. The event was a big success raising US$13,441, which was double our original target.
We use funds raised or donated to us to cover university costs for university-level students or to help with school-related costs such as uniforms or books for younger girls.
This money raised at our first event is currently being used to provide full scholarships for six girls at various universities in Nigeria. Their studies include statistics, pharmacy, chemistry, microbiology, and law.
